MALACCA CANE is a natural product from the forests of Malaya.  Out of 100,000 cane shoots only ONE will grow one metre in length without any knots (nodes).  All the rest will have between 2 to 3 nodes in every length.  This is the reason why a long malacca cane without any knots is so expensive.  Until now, only Sandhurst army officers, blessed with private means, have been able to appreciate the sensuous beauties of malacca cane that must not be coloured, varnished or stained.  The unique varying pale and golden honey shades are proof of the real thing.   The cane flexes slightly; it is light yet is invincibly strong.  If you require a stick over 38” long (965mm) it will cost an arm and a leg; but you may rest assured that the stick you order will supply the loss at least of one of these limbs.
